2. How can I dictate?
A. However you decide. Softech Systems, Inc. offers a state-of-the-art digital dictation system that is accessible 24 hours daily from any touch-tone telephone worldwide. Dictators are assigned a 4-digit PIN that is used to identify them when accessing our call-in system.
3. What is the benefit of using a digital recorder compared to a call-in dictation?
A. Honestly, costs. Call-in can involve long distance, so we can charge extra for phone-in dictation. Our dictation system allows doctors to dictate on any hand-held or walk-about of their choice, and then to upload the dictations via the Internet.
4. Do you transcribe from tape cassettes?
A. Yes, Softech Systems, Inc. can. Just send us your cassettes and Softech Systems, Inc. will transcribe them for you. Usually takes a day longer to do them.
5. How do I sign up for a no-obligation 1000-line free trial?

6. Can I have the same transcriptionist to transcribe my reports?
A. It is always our practice to assign a transcriptionist who best meet the doctor’s specialty and needs.
7. Can I check the progress of my report any time?
A. Yes. Just log into our system using your ID and password and you can check the status of the transcription.
8. Can I make changes to a report?
A. All reports are returned electronically, so you can always make changes on your own.
9. How do you safeguard the transmission of my reports?
A. Data security and integrity are our top priorities. Safeguarding client information and reports is not only a legal requirement but also our ethical obligation. Softech Systems, Inc. maintains strict policies on the confidentiality, privacy and security of such information. Softech Systems, Inc. trains and educates our staff and our customers about these policies, and adherence is continually reinforced.
Client information, whether in transmission or at rest, cannot be accessed without proper authorization. It cannot be intercepted, decrypted, or altered because Softech Systems, Inc. has advanced firewall protection, 24-hour intrusion detection, 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. Our dictation system exceeds HIPAA requirements.
10. How much per line do you charge?
A. Our transcription rates are highly competitive with other transcription services and they depend on the type of health specialty, turnaround times, mode of dictation and volume. Softech Systems, Inc. follows the AAMT recommended 65-character line standard. Please contact customer service at Sales@softechus.com for a quote specific to your requirements. 11. What turnaround time do you offer?
A. Softech Systems, Inc. offers 24 hour and 48 hour turnaround times. Any dictation received after 11PM is considered next-day work. Softech Systems, Inc. also offer STAT transcription service.
12. What if I need a stat?
A. A stat dictation is completed upon request, in the timeliest manner possible, and returned by fax or accessible through our FTP site, as the situation warrants. Most stat requests can be filled in three hours or less!
13. Is there a fee to set up an account?
A. Nothing at all.
14. If I sign up, how long does it take to set up the service?
A. In 1 hour or less.
15. What payment methods are available?
A. Softech Systems, Inc. accept checks. Invoices are sent monthly by your chose of either mail or email.
16. Can I reach a live person when I call your toll-free or local number?
A. Yes, our quality control people are available by phone from 9 to 5 EDT Monday thru Friday. If we are on the other line, please leave a message, and someone will return your call ASAP.
17. How is my dictation returned to me?
A. You tell us. Your work can be downloaded electronically through our secure FTP site, fax or USPS. Transcripts in hardcopy format are delivered in laser printed form on the paper stock of your choosing.
18. What if I have a special request?
A. Not a problem. At Softech Systems, Inc. we specialize in exceeding your expectations! Softech Systems, Inc. transcripts are tailored to specifically simplify your administrative demands. Softech Systems, Inc. is experienced in transcribing numerous types of documents including standard letters and clinic notes, and beyond! As your needs change, simply let us know. Should you request any changes, our transcriptionist immediately implement all necessary modifications.

19. Do I need any special equipment?
A. Typically, no. The only exceptions would be for clients wishing to dictate with a digital recorder, and for clients wishing to receive their documents electronically. Our transcription packages are designed so that you can easily scale-up or scale-down the technology to best satisfy the needs of your working environment.
